What you might like to know about me before we work together.

What I do.

Sue Bates, M.Ed.
As mentioned on the Dr. Oz Show

I’ve done more than 30,000 client hours in my years of work. (Really, that is not an exaggeration.)

Sometimes we need someone who can give us really good advice and education about what works well in life. Sometimes we just don’t have the information we need! I don’t just sit and listen, I give info, advice and homework.

We ALL need someone on our side that is supportive and there for us! That can root for us while we’re making changes in our lives. Give us encouragement when we’re scared and Woo hoo’s when we get what we want and are proud of our accomplishments.

I keep saying it but I can’t tell you what a huge impact you had on my life Sue, and I’m tearing up while I write this because you helped me find something I wasn’t sure if I’d ever find- myself. I think about you often and I am the biggest advocate for student counseling on campus, thanks to you I truly know how important it is to have somebody on your team 🙂

Women I have worked with have learned to date, have fun and BE IN a good relationship.

Why I work with Women, Dating & Relationships.

When I was 21 or so, I remember sitting on the side of my bed listening to music. (Probably “I Am Woman.”) After all, it was the early 70s.) I just knew I wanted to help women get the life they want. But I was sooo shy I didn’t know how I was going to do that! Now, you can’t shut me up.

When I was 17 I lost my mom. And she was one of the really good ones. My Alcoholic dad was not in the picture. So I was out there on my own at an early age. I married young and, of course, that didn’t work out. I didn’t know anything about how to be in a relationship or what they are for. He was a good guy, but I was a mess. You might be in your 20’s or 30’s and wondering, “what the heck am I suppose to do?”

So I had to learn sooo much on my own! Along the way I found therapists and a couple of really good, wise women who helped me grow up. I learned to be my authentic self, have a voice, find only good relationships, be happy on my own, do what I love, and enjoy each day. AND THAT IS POWER.

There’s a new women’s movement going on. Women don’t have to settle for a man that doesn’t treat them well. We have to have our personal power in order to make the changes in the world we want. We have to be powerful to teach the girls in our lives how to be their best and have a good life. I have a lot to say about women and power and I can get you there.

Ok, the professional stuff.

I’m a licensed therapist in the State of Washington. I’ve been a therapist for 40 + yrs. I work with women and some men, who are ready to learn what they need to do differently to have the life and love they want.

If you would like to work with me go here. I would love to hear what’s going on with you!
